Amy has been singing most of her life, beginning as a young girl singing with her family at church and school functions. While living in Hawaii for twelve years, she studied with a vocal teacher who taught her opera and classical music! Returning to California in the early 1990s, she studied hula and Hawaiian culture with a Sacramento-based halau (hula school) and continued to study with a Kauai-based halau. She has attended many ukulele and hula workshops, and over the past 15 years, has developed over 15 themed shows for seniors, and performs regularly at senior communities throughout northern California. She fondly suggests that the best music was written from the 1930’s to the early 60’s, and focuses on these genres, as well as Hawaiian music.
